View Updating Quikscribe Recorder

Recent versions of Quikscribe Recorder provide a feature to check for and install software updates automatically. This feature will provide incremental software patches and enhancements for the current software version, providing you have a valid subscription to the Quikscribe Support Plan. To use this feature do the following:
� Open Quikscribe Recorder.
� Select Help.
� Select Check for Latest Version.
� When prompted, close the icons in your system tray and close Quikscribe Recorder. Icons in the system tray that you may need to close are: .
If Check for Latest Version if not available in the Help menu of Quikscribe Recorder, follow the instructions for Download and Install Quikscribe Recorder from the Internet.
Download and Install Quikscribe Recorder from the Internet
� If Quikscribe Recorder has been previously installed, first uninstall Quikscribe Recorder. Go to Control Panel. Select Add/Remove Programs. Click Quikscribe Recorder and remove it.
� Enter the following link in the address line of an Internet browser:
http://www.digidictate.com/qs/info/install-procedures.
� Click the link to download and install Quikscribe Recorder.
� Select ‘Open’ to run the installation routine immediately. Individual users will usually select this option. (Select ‘Save’ to download the installation file and save it to a local PC or network drive for future installation.)
� Follow the on-screen instructions.
� Pay particular attention to the Setup Type screen options. An image of the screen is displayed below. Each option will install Quikscribe Recorder. Some users need additional options, though.
� Select ‘Default’ to install the software for the portable recorder download feature.
� Select ‘Custom’ to install the Voice Recognition option (which requires coordination with Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
� Select ‘Complete’ for both the portable recorder software and Voice Recognition.
� If ‘Custom’ is selected an entry screen will display. This screen allows de-selection of the Philips DPM software or Voice Recognition or the status management option. This screen will not appear for ‘Default’ or ‘Complete’ setup types.
After running QS Recorder, you may received a prompt to register the software.
� If prompted, enter your license number and the appropriate user name or computer name to help identify the registration on that PC. A unique user name (of your choice) is helpful for future troubleshooting.
� Close Quikscribe Recorder and reopen it to ensure full licensing.
