View Updating Quikscribe Player

Recent versions of Quikscribe Player provide a feature to check for and install software updates automatically. This feature will provide incremental software patches and enhancements for the current software version, providing you have a valid subscription to the Quikscribe Support Plan. To use this feature do the following:
• Open Quikscribe Player.
• Select Help.
• Select Check for Latest Version.
• When prompted, close the icons in your system tray and close Quikscribe Player. Icons in the system tray that you may need to close are: .
If Check for Latest Version if not available in the Help menu of Quikscribe Player, follow the instructions for Download and Install Quikscribe Player from the Internet.
Download and Install Quikscribe Player from the Internet
• If Quikscribe Player has been previously installed, first uninstall Quikscribe Player. Go to Control Panel. Select Add/Remove Programs. Click Quikscribe Player and remove it. When prompted, close the listed icons in your system tray. Icons in the system tray that you may need to close are: .
• Enter the following link in the address line of an Internet browser:

• Move down the page and click the link to download and install Quikscribe Player.
• Select “Open” to run the installation routine immediately. Individual users will usually select this option. (Select “Save” to download the installation file and save it to a local PC or network drive for future installation.)
• Follow the on-screen instructions.
• Pay particular attention to the Setup Type screen options. An image of the screen is displayed below. Each option will install Quikscribe Player.
• Select “Default” to install only Quikscribe Player.
• Select “Complete” to install Quikscribe Player along with Voice Recognition (which requires coordination with Dragon NaturallySpeaking).
• If prompted, enter your license number, user name, and organization name. A unique user name is important for future troubleshooting.
• Close Quikscribe Player and reopen it to ensure full licensing.
